One Reporter's Opinion — Planned Anarchy Reigns in L.A.
George Putnam
Friday, May 11, 2007

It is this reporter's opinion that we are experiencing déjà vu in regards to the recent confrontation between law enforcement and mobs of illegals marching in protest.

Cries of "police brutality" and demands for police review boards are again dominating news headlines.

On May 1, 2007, many of the illegal aliens, socialists, communists, anarchists, and radical illegal separatists groups launched an assault on the police.

Identified anarchists threw rocks, bottles, and other items at 15 Los Angeles Police Department officers — some of whom suffered injuries.

Most of the media images proved that the LAPD acted responsibly and confirmed that the illegal alien protestors acted deplorably.

However, in Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Police Chief William Bratton stumbled over each other in a rush to apologize for the actions of the police.

The police chief immediately replaced a well-respected 38-year veteran deputy chief.

The mayor promises severe action against what he terms "abusive officers."

Charges were levied that the LAPD's use of force ignored rules previously established for similar incidents — and not a single kind word was uttered for the police who were defending our citizens against radical illegal aliens who threw rocks and bottles and set fires.

Instead the mayor and the police chief joined forces with organizations like La Raza and others providing sanctuary and advocating amnesty for all illegals in condemning the actions of the courageous police.

Many illegal alien mothers used their anchor babies as their first line of defense — putting them in the line of fire as a buffer between themselves and the rubber bullets and batons.

Babies who are born on U.S. soil become automatic citizens.

Deputy Chief of Police Mike Downing who heads the LAPD's counterterrorism bureau expressed concern that the destructive breed of anarchist is growing in numbers.

Downing says, "We are beginning to see more and more of it."

The time is now time to show our absolute outrage.

What are the police supposed to do when pelted with rocks and bottles thrown at them by the known agitators?

Instigators who are here illegally in violation of our sovereignty, our very way of life, do not deserve the opportunity to protest — much less riot.

In the words of my longtime friend, the late great Chief of Police William H. "Bill" Parker of the Los Angeles Police Department, "When you come down to it, they are either for a cop or against a cop. Tragically, there is nothing inbetween."
