One Reporter's Opinion — Illegals Must Go!
George Putnam
Thursday, April 26, 2007

It is this reporter's opinion that an unlikely coalition headed by President Bush and Sen. Kennedy is determined to cram another amnesty proposition down our throats and reward millions of illegals who have broken our laws.

Their objective is cheap labor for business plus gardeners, maids, and nannies for the rich.

This comes at a time when America faces an unprecedented illegal immigration crisis, facilitated by multimillion dollar drug and human importing cartels.

Corporations are inducing the invasion by aiding and abetting the illegal aliens.

"No way," says William Gheen, president of Americans for Illegal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC). Gheen is not mincing words. He says the time is well overdue — the illegals must go!

The demands on our cities are overwhelming.

Anyone who lives in a large city can see the results of overpopulation on the roads, schools, hospitals, courts, and jails.

Story Continues Below

We face water shortages, electrical outages, and the high price of energy. And yet, the U.S. population continues to explode, rising faster than any industrialized country in the world.

The last thing we need are more illegal immigrants!

So, what are we to do about it?

First, the laws must be enforced.

Second, penalties for any crime must exceed the benefits to those breaking the law.

Illegal aliens can never afford to compensate us for what they have taken.

How can this be accomplished? We do not need to go door to door looking for illegals to deport. We have examples of how effective enforcement is.

Illegals are leaving the states of Georgia and Pennsylvania in droves, not because these states are enforcing the law, but rather because they simply have announced they plan to start enforcing the law.

Even as illegals are flooding in by the millions, decent law abiding Americans are fleeing the states of California, Texas, and many towns and cities that illegals are settling.

Soon there will be few places left to run.

Enforcement will work if President Bush were to announce on national television that America will begin securing our borders and enforcing our existing laws.

So many illegals would leave America that Mexico would have to set up refuge stations to accommodate the mass exodus.

We have some evidence that illegal aliens have returned to their home communities with a message for their neighbors that their ill-gotten gains have not paid off in America.

It's the only real way we can put a stop to this crisis!

Everyone is affected by this crisis. All are forced down the economic ladder as the illegals work for slave wages.

History teaches us that multicultural societies are simply unstable.

Every day state and local authorities are forced to deal with a babble of languages, cultures, and way of life.

An amazing one-fourth of our present population are illegals. Almost one-third of families below the poverty line are illegals. And yet, with all of this impending doom, Bush, Kennedy, and their like are determined to pass an amnesty bill.

Recently, presidential candidate Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., stated, "Our culture, our language, our heritage, our sovereignty, our security, our prosperity, and our very survival are desperately at risk."

Americans face an unprecedented illegal immigration crisis driven by a single issue: greed.

Bill Gheen said it best: Illegals must go!
