1. Leo DiCaprio to Film Enron Movie
Leonardo DiCaprio appears to be taking a political turn in his acting career.
After watching George Clooney take home a little gold statue, and having been
nominated himself this year for an Oscar for the politically correct "Blood
Diamond," DiCaprio's next film deals with a subject that is sure to please the
left.
His new flick will focus on how the energy company Enron went bust, and it is
expected to spotlight the company's donations to the Bush campaign.

Take a wild guess as to when the film, titled "Conspiracy of Fools," is likely
to show up at your neighborhood cineplex just in time for the general
presidential election.
It will also be out in time to give a boost to the Democratic nominee, whoever
she may be.
2. New al-Qaida Recording
The latest audio recording released by al-Qaida features the second in command,
Ayman al Zawahiri.
It was posted on the Internet with subtitles so that an English-speaking
audience would be able to understand Zawahiri's insults.
Zawahiri slams U.S. citizens for electing President Bush twice and then labels
Bush "an alcoholic, liar, and gambler with an addictive personality."
Sounding just like someone who's running in the Democratic presidential primary,
Zawahiri says, "U.S. President George Bush being forced to admit his failure in
Iraq is a major event."
The Left Coast Report is looking into rumors that Zawahiri is trying to get his
recording nominated for next year's Grammys.
3. Food Fights
These days we hear a lot of talk about obesity. Many are even claiming that
Americans are obsessed with food. Maybe they're right.
Carlos Santana, legendary rocker of "Oye Como Va" and "Evil Ways" fame, is
putting together a restaurant chain. The eateries will serve Mexican food and be
called "Maria Maria," after the Santana song of the same name.
Meanwhile Spike TV is showing the world what happens when food mania meets
reality television. The show involves something called competitive eating. Spike
TV plans to air four competitive eating events this year, one per quarter.
The first will be a "St. Patrick's Day Chowdown," where contestants will fill
their faces with corned beef, cabbage, and beef tongue followed up by green
donuts.
The Left Coast Report wonders if the show's sponsor will be Pepto-Bismol.
4. Paula Abdul Has 'Never Been Drunk'
It's every public figure's worst nightmare when their goof-up is captured and
posted on the Internet for all to see.
It unfortunately happened to American Idol judge Paula Abdul when videos of her
half-closed eyes and sloppily slurred words were endlessly cyber-looped.
News reports described the former Laker Girl as inebriated during TV interviews.
Fans of American Idol also thought Abdul looked a little tipsy during some of
the recent qualifying shows.
The singer admits having taken prescription drugs in the past for arthritis.
But Abdul told Us Weekly, "I've never been drunk. I have never done recreational
drugs. Just look at my 20-year career. Tell me someone who is into partying and
or doing drugs that could have done that."
The Left Coast Report says apparently Paula's never partied in
Washington, D.C.
5. Sylvester Stallone's Hotel Room Raided
Sylvester Stallone's suite at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Sydney, Australia, was
raided by Australian Customs officers.
The saga began when Stallone landed at the Sydney Airport. He was in town to
attend the Aussie premiere of his latest "Rocky" movie.
Some alleged "prohibited items" were confiscated by Customs officers who kept
the star at the airport for about two hours.
Although Stallone was not present, members of his entourage were seen throwing
items out of the hotel window as officers entered, according to the Sydney
Morning Herald.
Reporters speculated that the confiscated items were banned bodybuilding drugs.
The actor refused requests to identify the items but told the press, "It's
something I've taken for years . . . it's not dangerous."
Sly may need some assistance in staying buff. He's about to start production on
his next film, "Rambo IV."
