Multicultural Cant Blinds Us to Islamist Threat Barrett Kalellis The widespread drubbing of Virginia Congressman Virgil Goode and his worries about increased Muslim immigration to the U.S. by mainstream media editorialists and the usual crowd of TV talking heads — invoking everything from Thomas Jefferson's Qur'an to charges of racism, bigotry and extremism — demonstrates once again the tendency of multicultural nonsense to cloud the issues and draw attention away from any substance.
Goode, commentator Dennis Prager and others expressed concern that newly elected Democrat Congressman Keith Ellison from Minnesota chose to make the nose-thumbing gesture of being ceremonially sworn in to office by making his oath on a Qur'an instead of the traditional Bible.
Given that most Americans know nothing about Islam and the belief system of Muslims, it looks on the surface like an affront to the gods of cultural relativism, whose avatars believe all lifestyles, cultures, religions, and philosophies are equal, and the foundations of Western society are no longer worth defending. At worst, Goode's detractors claim he is imposing a religious test, a clear violation of the Constitution. If one really takes the time to learn something about Islam, Congressman Goode's concerns should raise many questions. The Quran, along with other Islamic writings, teaches that nation-states have no validity, only the nation of Islam; that the world is divided into Muslims and infidels (unbelievers); and that infidels must either be converted, subjugated or killed.

Even lying to unbelievers (taqiyya) is sanctioned, if it protects Islam. Muslims believe that these are direct commandments of Allah, as revealed to Muhammad, and cannot be changed in any way. Since the seventh century, history has shown that wherever Islam becomes dominant, other religions, states, and personal freedoms are crushed in the name of furthering an Islamic state, where Muslim tyrants or clerics rule and Islamic sharia law is imposed upon the population, which has no individual rights. Today, Europe is one of the test laboratories for this well-worn pattern. Because large numbers of Muslim immigrants and their offspring remain unintegrable in Western European cities, and their birth rate is three times that of the non-Muslim native populations, experts predict that Europe will be Islamicized in about 50 years. If this happens, expect to see a radical shift in the culture and laws of these countries. This pattern is also currently playing out in Indonesia, Africa, and many other parts of the globe where Muslim populations are growing.
Ellison's swearing in on the Quran is a political statement. Why an American black would want to adopt the official Arab religion strains credulity, but there it is. Islamic teachings have nothing in common with the U.S. Constitution; in fact, they are directly opposed to everything American stands for. Might you wonder why Ellison and his supporters shouted "Allahu akbar" at his election win, rather than "God bless America?" It's simply a question of where his allegiance lies. If more Muslims are elected to Congress in the coming years, will you not expect to see an "Islamic congressional caucus," like the present-day Black Congressional Caucus? Of course, tending to the constituent needs of Muslims would be a further attempt to Islamicize America. Consider the following: 1) pressuring the Hamtramck, Mich. city council to permit the Islamic "call to prayer (in Arabic) over loudspeakers five times a day; 2) demanding that schools serve Islamic-approved menus in public schools and that Muslim girls wear habibs; 3) demanding separate "prayer rooms" in airports; 4) Minnesota airport cabbies refusing to allow passengers with bottles of alcoholic beverages or dogs in their cabs; 5) authorizing the use of sharia law in Ontario, Canada in civil arbitrations; 6) allowing 80 percent of U.S. mosques to continue disseminating hate-filled speech and literature; 7) Saudi-funded Islamic lobby groups like CAIR pushing Congress to pass laws that forbid Muslim profiling in national security matters. In each case, dominant Muslim populations are incrementally being appeased by know-nothing multiculturalists that have the effect of strengthening separatist Islamic customs instead of assimilating these groups into the countries where they are now natives. This pattern is consistent with what is happening in the rest of the world. The laws and lazy attitudes now governing America's open society are being used against us to promote and further the concealed aims of a belief system that is fundamentally alien and incompatible with our way of life. It's jihad on the installment plan. If Americans and their elected politicians were truly aware, they would ban the practice of Islam in the United States and tear down all the mosques. If Muslims want to practice their beliefs, let them return to their mother countries. This, at least, would protect us from what is happening right now in Europe and all those other places.
