President Hillary to the Floor, Please
Charles R. Smith
Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006

President Hillary Clinton is ready to ascend and take her crown on live TV.

The part-time senator from New York is already president, even before a single vote has been counted, because the mainstream media have ordained her to be.

Never mind the primary season, Obama, Gore, or Kerry.

Forget McCain or Rudy.

Don't worry about voting.

She is the next president and that's final.

There are problems with Hillary taking the oath of office. First, the national political scene has been dominated for 20 years by two families; the Bush and Clinton clans. One would think that the pundits, press, and public have had enough of the tale of two dynastic rules.

Yet, the fact remains that both political parties can't get enough of their respective giants. Never mind that — politically speaking — neither clan stayed true to its roots. This fact disturbed me to write about Clinton and seek a way around Bush.

The problem for a conservative with the Bush administration is that there is no foundation for an opposing view. The opposite was certainly true with a Clinton in office. One could find many like-minded individuals willing to stick their necks out and risk all when opposing Clinton.

Story Continues Below

Many of the same folks, faced with the same policy from the Bush White House, sit silent, unwilling to take the plunge.

The same can be said of the Clintons. Many liberals oppose policies held by Bush that Bill Clinton shared. They were strangely silent, willing to compromise their politics during the Clinton years, in order to remain in power.

Today, they have no such problem.

In addition, Hillary has her troubles. For example, the recent Senate hearing with Bob Gates — Bush's new defense secretary — allowed Hillary an opportunity to take shots at the Bush administration. Clearly, she had a free hand to grill Gates about Iraq before the American audience.

Liberals may wonder why she elected to soft-ball her way through the hearings instead of raking Gates over the coals.

The reason was all too obvious to those with the keys to Hillary's closet. Early in her co-presidency days with her man-child/husband, Hillary had her political hackers pull the private FBI files of Gates and 500 other U.S. citizens.

Never mind the fact that this was illegal.

It served Hillary and her hit squad to snatch the FBI files and rifle through the lives of potential opponents. All Gates had to do, if pressed by Hillary, was to issue a quick reminder of her history. One bad crack and her face would be hanging all over the nightly news with memories of an inept and corrupt past.

Hillary has big problems inside her own party. The impression is that she has the money but she is also a "polarizing" element. The buzzword "polarize" means that there are loads of people who dislike her and who will never support her. There are also those who worship her and refuse to recognize documented facts about her life. Those who are left are few and far between, leaving little margin for victory.

There is also that nagging problem about the body count she has left behind. Vince Foster, Moctar Riady, Johnny Chung, Charlie "yah-lin" Trie, John Huang, Ron Brown, and Webster Hubbell come to mind.

I can hardly list her repeated scandals in a single article: For example dealing in cattle futures, firing the White House travel office, messing with health care, smearing hubby's girlfriends, blaming the far right for all her problems, and missing Rose office records reappearing out of a wormhole in time/space.

Many of her supporters credit Mrs. Clinton with a steel-trap mind and a sharp memory for detail. However, Mrs. Clinton stated 250 times that she could neither remember nor recall events when asked about various scandals while under oath.

It is often said that a pictures never lie or a picture is worth a thousand words. However, Mrs. Clinton knows that a picture is actually worth $50,000. For example, in February 1995 Johnny Chung asked DNC Chairman Don Fowler to help him get a photo op of Bill Clinton with a few friends from China.

Fowler declined to help Chung because the list of friends included Zheng Hongye, a top executive of the Chinese navy-owned shipping company COSCO. In response, Chung handed a $50,000 check to Maggie Williams, Hillary Clinton's chief of staff. On March 11, 1995, Chung and Zheng attended Clinton's weekly radio address, which was later followed by a photo session.

In addition, Mrs. Clinton has a few of her own pictures to live down, including one with convicted "Chinagate" figure Moctar Riady, and a photo of her with convicted cocaine smuggler Jorge Cabrera in front of the White House Christmas tree.

Then there is the 1995 photo of Ng Lapseng and the Clintons taken in front of a DNC symbol. The photo of Ng Lapseng is very telling in that Mrs. Clinton was certainly aware that Ng owns the Macao-based Fortuna Hotel.

It is nice that children under 12 can stay free at the Fortuna.

However, according to the Fortuna brochure, for a large fee, hostesses from various countries can also entertain businessmen. To be precise, Ng is actually a hotel/casino/brothel owner. Even more amazing is Hillary Clinton's silence on Ng Lapseng and the money that somehow slipped out of his pockets into DNC coffers at the same time.

There are ways for Hillary to win and win big. One such way would be for Bill Clinton to die. No one would dare oppose the mourning widow. Not a whisper would be issued about Riady money, Chinese generals, or Monica. There would be no debates, no primaries. Instead, Hillary would take office wearing black.

Don't get me wrong. I would willingly take a bullet for Bill Clinton if only to protect my financial interests in writing about his future scandals. This article should be interpreted as a cautionary memo to Bill. Take good care of yourself. Restrict your travel — especially on airplanes. See a good doctor you trust. Stay very, very healthy and live a long and scandal-filled life.

Of course, I'd vote for Hillary. I'm sure that stuns most of my readers but clearly, a pundit with a book in the ready, filled with facts about the life and times of our future president, would want her to win. Never mind ideology or that little bit of corruption. Money will sway my vote — because skeletons make for best sellers. So prospective publishers take note, I am waiting anxiously by the phone.
