Israel's Channel 2 Television is reporting that a leak of irradiated
water has come from a nuclear "research" reactor in the Negev Desert
city of Dimona.
Channel 2 reports that "high levels of radiation" were detected in
water at a crater just outside the nuclear complex.
Israeli authorities have acknowledged the "incident," but claim that the
water involved is located in a remote area of the Dimona facility not
accessible to the public.
Channel 2 is reporting that the crater containing the radioactive water
has not been secured by Israeli authorities and is accessible
by the public.

Dimona is the site where it is believed that Israel has built more than
200 nuclear warheads over the last 20 years.
It is also the site where, in 1991, Saddam Hussein lobbed several Scud
missiles in an unsuccessful attempt to draw Israel into the 1991 Gulf War.
