Aborting Black America? by Fr. Mike ReillyThe latest abortion statistics should be especially troubling to African Americans. According to the Vatican news web site Zenit, more black babies are aborted every three days in America than the total number of black lynching victims during the 86-years between 1882 to 1968. Story Continues Below Since 1973, more than 13 million black babies have been aborted. In the America of 2005, black women account for more than one third - 36 percent - of all abortions, though they comprise just 26 percent of the female population of childbearing age. Why do black women tend to abort in higher numbers? One reason might be because 78 percent of Planned Parenthood clinics are located in minority communities? But certainly there's nothing sinister behind the fact that America's most prolific abortion provider has decided that black America is its most promising market. Or is there? The Life Education and Resource Network (LEARN) notes that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was an advocate of Hitlerian-style eugenics who was renowned for her racist views. "Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated," Sanger once urged, according to LEARN. No wonder Planned Parenthood is so interested in the reproductive "health" of black women.
