WASHINGTON -- People in the United States now consider North Korea to be one of the country's biggest enemies - up sharply from four years ago, a poll found.
When a Gallup poll asked people in the United States which country they "considered to be America's greatest enemy today," North Korea and Iraq were tied for first, with 22 percent choosing each country.

Iran was third, chosen by 14 percent, while China was chosen by 10 percent.
Three years ago, President Bush identified Iraq, Iran and North Korea as parts of an "axis of evil."
In this year's State of the Union address, the president called for democracy throughout the world, but toned down specific comments about North Korea.
North Korea claimed last week that it has nuclear weapons and said it would not participate in international talks urging it to abandon its atomic weapons development.
In 2003, the United States invaded Iraq and toppled Saddam Hussein, though insurgents are still fighting attempts to establish a democracy. In 2001, Iraq was named "America's greatest enemy" by 38 percent and North Korea was named by only 2 percent.
The poll also found that Americans' attitudes about France and Germany have improved since the invasion of Iraq caused strained relations with the longtime U.S. allies.
The poll of 1,008 adults was taken Feb. 7-10 and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
