Of Mice and Men

The “It’s All About Me Coalition,” better known as The March for Women’s Lives, will hold a gathering this weekend in our nation’s capital. Their march on D.C. aims to tell U.S. policy leaders, “Just lay off women’s rights,” according to Eleanor Smeal, president of the Feminist Majority.

Smeal’s group will join the National Organization for Women, Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America and the ACLU, among others. These groups and their minions see the world through only one lense — how their so-called rights affect them.

The feminist movement for independence is a scourge on our culture. Whatever good they think they’ve accomplished for women’s “rights” has been overshadowed by skyrocketing out-of-wedlock births, masses of single mothers on welfare, and generations of fatherless children across our country.

But this weekend, rabid feminists will come together to proclaim their victories and demand even more political power under the guise of “women’s health.”

Let’s talk about women’s health for a moment. Since the 1960s sexual revolution, our culture has seen a dramatic increase in the variety and cases of infection of sexually transmitted diseases, including the explosive epidemic of AIDS/HIV.

Prior to 1972, most women obeyed the law and honored their pregnancy, despite whatever circumstance they faced. Since abortion became legal, women (and yes, children) who find themselves in inconvenient situations are encouraged — usually without proper medical or emotional guidance — to undergo an incredibly risky procedure, often ending in damage to their reproductive organs, permanent loss of child-bearing capabilities, heart-wrenching emotional conflicts, and in some cases, their own lives.

Certainly the health of unborn women are not a factor here, because human life does not matter to these feminist groups until after the baby’s complete body exits the mother and the umbilical cord is cut. At least we hope they then regard the baby a human.

Considering these major sponsors, the March for Women’s Lives is really a selfish, destructive, pro-death rally for their ideal of female superiority.

In related news, scientists at a Tokyo University laboratory in Japan found a way to create living mice without using any sperm.

The AP story reports the scientists’ feat in using DNA from a pair of female parents to produce two live mice, only one of which grew to maturity and gave birth. They also only briefly mention the other 455 dead or damaged eggs occurring in the study’s process.

Not to worry, men, the scientists assure us. This mouse study will not be reproduced to create human babies. Experts cite ethical concerns and current technology, as well as “unknown health risks” as barriers to applying the technique for people.

Two live mice, only one of which actually survives to maturity, are produced out of 457 eggs, and they cite “unknown health risks”? The study does not leave questions about the health risks for humans. Rather, it effectively illustrates a 99.6 percent likelihood of creating dead or damaged babies.

But what happens when science moves beyond current technology? Obviously, the 2 specimens from the 457 eggs encouraged scientists to begin improving technology in such a way as to raise the odds to 30 out of 460, then to 50 out of 580, and so on. Are 1,497 dead eggs worthless with respect to 82 successes?

Right now they’re only using mice—but how long before ethics are thrown out the window in the name of scientific exploration? Especially if they are driven by feminist groups desiring the ability to conceive without sperm?

And where did this reporter get the notion that abortion-friendly feminists, hell-bent on cutting men from their lives, care anything about the threat of killing babies? These rabid feminists’ lifelong goal is to prove life is possible, in fact better, without men. If a few or a few hundred damaged fetuses and still-born babies result in the process, they’ll consider reaching the goal superior to the lives lost to get there.

These women prove time and again how little they value human life when it doesn’t fit perfectly into their lifestyle plans. Handicapped child? Abortion. Too young to have kids? Abortion. Motherhood not convenient for a career? Abortion.

In the name of women’s rights, these pro-abort feminists fought to make abortion legal, easy, and convenient to any woman for any reason. However, their never-ending quest to erase men from their lives has been disastrous for humankind.

At what point will we decide to fight back?
