Bill Moyers Attacks Hannity, Conservative Media

Bill Moyers, the former aide to the late President Johnson and a well known liberal fixture on public broadcasting where he hosted his "Now" program, devoted his final program Friday night to an intemperate blast at the alleged the dominance of "right-wing ranting in TV and radio" according to the Washington Post's TV critic Tom Shales.

Though Moyers claimed on election night that some Bush supporters might undertake a coup if Kerry was election, Shales claimed the liberal pundit "has always taken the high road."
No doubt one liberal would think highly of another who spent his last tax funded TV show on bashing conservative media.
Moyers seemed to take the low road once again during his last show:
Moyers dipped into his bucket of liberal slime to cite Hitler's "Mein Kampf" in connection with the Pentagon's "use of deception and disinformation against enemies, real or imagined, abroad," carefully ignoring Winston Churchill's advice that "truth accompanied by a bodyguard of lies" is a needed weapon in warfare.
He described hearing conservative talk radio while on a car trip as "a freak show of political pornography" so horrible that he described it as "malignant."
In a report in which he documented conservative excesses on the "public" airwaves he attacked Sean Hannity, "a bullying buffoon" on the "fair and balanced" Fox News for spending much of his time this year campaigning for George W. Bush, and telling an audience in one city that a vote for Democrat John Kerry would help "Osama get his way."
Alleging that Sinclair Broadcasting tried to force its stations to air "Stolen Honor - a documentary which detailed the pain and suffering Kenny's anti-war activities caused U.S. P.O.W.s in Hanoi - Shales described it as merely a free political infomercial for Bush."
Clear Channel Communications also went all-out in supporting Bush's reelection and Iraq war.
Shales wrote that "Moyers naturally dealt with radio personality Rush Limbaugh and Fox's noisiest loudmouth, Bill O'Reilly," during the report."
Moyers program left wing slant was no surprise. Before it's airing the Associated Press had reported that Moyer's would make one more biased assault on conservative media.
As Moyers explained, "I'm going out telling the story that I think is the biggest story of our time: how the right-wing media has [sic] become a partisan propaganda arm of the Republican National Committee."
As NewsMax.com commented on Friday, Dec. 10 Moyers Exits PBS With Attack on 'Right-Wing Media' Moyers "failed to mention that for decades the left-wing media establishment, ranging from PBS and NPR to the New York Times and the CBS of Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather, has been and continues to be a partisan propaganda arm of the Democratic National Committee."
The liberal TV critic laughably described Moyers as " one of the few liberal voices left in broadcasting." How about Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Ted Koppel, Katie Couric and dozens of their clones who dominate ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, PBS - the main sources of the news for a majority of Americans.
