Aside from being White House Legal Counsel, he served as a justice of the Texas Supreme Court, as the Texas Secretary of State, and as legal counsel to the Governor of Texas. "He has served with distinction in every post. As someone who has served not only in the executive branch but also in the judiciary, he brings a special insight into the office of Attorney General that few people have brought in the past," said TLC Board Member Juan Carlos Benitez.
