#1 CIA Still In "Near Chaos"
NewsMax.com has previously reported that the leadership at the CIA has done
little to change the P.C. culture that the Clintons created at the Agency.
In the wake of 9-11, the Agency's top management appears unwilling to allow
operatives to do the job necessary to penetrate terrorist networks.
Recently, NewsMax.com spoke with a high-ranking CIA official who described the
situation at the Agency as being in a state of "near chaos."
#2 New York - The Next Target
The Same CIA official told NewsMax.com he thinks that the chance of New York
being hit by terrorists again is 75%.
No doubt that high probability is based on the fact New York offers a bundle of
advantages.
First, New York is the media and business center of the U.S. The terrorists want
media exposure - and also want to undermine the U.S. economy.
New York also has a large population of Jews. The terrorists see an attack on
New York as a double whammy - an attack on the U.S. and an attack on Israel's
supporters.
Third, New York is the headquarters of the United Nations. All of the major
rogue nations - including Iraq, Iran and North Korea have offices there. All
have diplomats moving through the city with ease. Experts believe UN diplomats
could help terrorists with logistics for future attacks.
#3 Red Mercury Bombs
J.R. Nyquist reports that that Russia may have given red mercury fusion
technology to Saddam Hussein.
Nyquist writes: "According to one of my sources, Iraq possesses 's-megaton'
micro-nuclear warheads. These are softball-sized two-megaton fusion bombs
triggered by an irradiated and compressed compound of mercury antimony oxide.
This device doubles the nuclear yield with a hundredfold reduction of weight.
Using heavy hydrogen instead of uranium or plutonium to fuel its explosive
reaction, this hand-held nuclear weapon cannot be detected by U.S. sensors.
He adds: "... former Russian Atomic Energy Minister Viktor Mikhailov, who once
spoke of a new kind of bomb that could devastate "foreign territory" while
carrying no risk of retaliation. During a Pravda interview almost a decade ago,
Mikhailov described the existence of 'little bombs' that 'could appear by the
year 2000.' In 1993 General Y. Negin said that Russia had developed a special
nuclear weapon, 'in which a doubling of yield is achieved with a hundredfold
reduction of weight compared to existing weapons.' American scientist Sam Cohen,
inventor of the neutron bomb, pointed out in 1995 that such an increase in
nuclear efficiency would only be possible if the Russians had developed a red
mercury device."
#4 China Buying Go ld
As the U.S. and Western central banks have been selling their national gold
reserves on the open market - which some experts say has artificially lowered
the price of gold - the Chinese have been actively buying gold.
Recently, the Chinese government purchased more than $1 billion of the precious
metal.
Strategic Investment reports that if China used just one percent of its cash
reserves to buy gold, it would amount to the total annual production of all gold
mining companies in the world.
Gold still remains the best store of value in uncertain times. Obviously, the
Chinese are hedging their bets.
