A Fateful Date

Nov. 5 has always been a significant date in my life. For example, I left for Parris Island and Marine Corps boot camp on Nov. 5, 1943,
under the mistaken notion that I was escaping Jesuit and parental discipline. Any number of significant things have occurred on that date over the
years, but I think that in many ways this year it may well be the most fateful in our long history.
It certainly will be for the 5,000 innocent babies who will be yanked down their mothers' birth canals in the next 12 months and at the moment of birth,
have a pair of scissors jammed into the base of their skulls and a vacuum tube inserted to suck out their brains while they are still alive.
I'm indebted to Dr. D.F. Joseph for pointing this out to me as a reminder that should the National Socialist Democrat Party take control of both the
House and the Senate as a result of the Nov. 5 congressional elections, there will be no chance that the horrific partial-birth abortion
procedure will be banned – something that GOP control of the Congress will cause to happen thanks to the fact that we have George Bush in the
White House and he will sign the bill instead of vetoing it, as did his predecessor.
And that's just one example of what America faces if a majority of voters go down to the polling places and cast their votes for Democrat candidates
for Congress.
We'll have a thoroughly socialist Congress dominated by members who have sold their souls to the baby-killing abortion industry, to
the greedy trial lawyers of America, to the bosses of big labor, who make their exorbitant salaries on the backs of their hard-working members, to
the radical wing of the environmental movement who are threatening the livelihoods of farmers, lumbermen, miners, land owners and even homeowners.
We've faced this problem in past elections, but in the recent past it has worsened, due to the total radicalization of the already corrupt National
Socialist Democrat Party (NSDP).
I have often referred to the fact that the NSDP is more of a criminal conspiracy that it is a political party, but its
total domination by a dedicated socialist leadership today makes it an enemy of every American who cherishes freedom and justice and the rule
of law.
This year, as never before, America is confronted with a disciplined political party thoroughly wedded to the discredited doctrines of Karl Marx that
wreaked havoc all across the globe over the past century and a half. Give them the chance and the nation that will eventually emerge will more
resemble the former Soviet Union with all of its potential for murderous brutality than the shining city on the hill President Reagan envisioned.
The tragic death of Sen. Paul Wellstone has brought to light an interesting paradox.
The late Minnesota senator, a thoroughly decent man, has
been portrayed as a true believer in his ultra-liberal creed in such a way as to make inescapable the conclusion that this made him the rarest of all
men. Unlike his colleagues, he really believed in the liberal creed for which he spent his life fighting.
What are we to draw from this but the conclusion that the rest of his liberal (read "socialist") colleagues follow the leftist line simply because it is
politically advantageous to do so, not because they believe it is right and proper to do so. It enables them to buy the voters with the voters' own
money, extorted from them in the form of rapacious income taxes.
That should be obvious. These are not stupid men and women. They know the history of socialism, how it inevitably fails because it goes against the
very nature of mankind. That it is, by its very nature and by necessity, coercive. It always resorts to force in the end, when the barbed wire goes up
around the concentration camps built to house men and women who love freedom and abhor tyrannical governments.
They know these things, but
they are more interested in having and exercising power over their constituents than they are in where their crazed rush to a Marxist future will lead
the nation.
Look around you. See the way your fellow Americans are treated when they resist existing socialist programs. See the homeowner facing prison
because he failed to understand that that soggy spot in his yard he tried to fill in was really a "wetland" protected by law as if were the holiest of
sites taking precedent over mere human beings.
Look around you and see the dangerous felon who killed a rat in his basement and now faces jail time for rodenticide, or the student who is to be
banished from class for bringing a Bible to school, or even worse for pointing his finger at a classmate as if were a gun.
Look around you and see your future, and that of your children and grandchildren.
That's what makes Nov. 5 a fateful date.
