Michael Reagan Opens Ranch to Mark 20th Anniversary of Tax Cut
Young America’s Foundation

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Young America’s Foundation was honored Monday to host at the Reagan Ranch nationally syndicated radio talk show personality Michael Reagan. Monday marked the 20th anniversary of the day President Ronald Reagan signed the Economic Recovery Act.
President Reagan’s bold leadership gave the American people the largest tax cut in the history of this nation — launching the "Reagan Revolution” that ended years of "stagflation” and gave Americans a new sense of hope.
The Washington Post called the tax cut "one of the most remarkable demonstrations of presidential leadership in modern history."
Twenty years ago, President Reagan gave the White House press corps a rare glimpse of his beloved ranch when he invited them to witness the tax-cut signing. On Monday, Young America’s Foundation again opened the ranch, now being carefully preserved, to the press.
The original rustic leather table where the president signed this bill was on display, along with photographs and additional interpretive materials. Mr. Reagan and Young America’s Foundation Executive Director Floyd Brown were on hand to discuss the significance of the tax cut.
Michael Reagan, a staunch defender of his father’s conservative principles, broadcast live from the Reagan Ranch Monday with an audience of college students from across the country. They had the unique opportunity to see the ranch where President Reagan signed this tax cut into law and where he made some of the most important decisions of his presidency.
Executive Director Floyd Brown said: "We’re thrilled that Michael Reagan is broadcasting from the ranch on this historic occasion. And we’re equally excited about the opportunity to share this piece of history, which has had such a profound impact on where we are now as a country and where we are headed, with the leaders of tomorrow.”
