When Will We Learn?

There is going to be a gigantic firestorm in northern Minnesota – possibly this summer, but certainly within the next three years. Even the Forest Service says so.
"The millions of fallen trees lying inside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) after the Independence Day windstorm will likely create a forest fire like none other seen in North America," wrote reporter John Meyers in Minnesota's News Tribune.
The dead and dying timber in the ''blowdown'' area, stacked up on the forest floor, will act as fuel for a fire that will grow larger and burn hotter.
"The fire could create a mushroom cloud up to 50,000 feet high that spurs its own wind and weather – even fire tornadoes."
Using the U.S. Forest Service's unit of measure for these kinds of fuel buildup, the energy in the entire blowdown region is equivalent to more than 100 Hiroshima-type nuclear bombs, says northern Minnesota lumberman Forrest Wilkinson.
The monster firestorm is going to happen, officials admit. "It's not a matter of if a fire will break out, but when, and how big it will become. It's not a matter of trying to stop it ... you can't."
When this oncoming disaster happens and hundreds of people die, thousands of homes are destroyed, and much of the Duluth area is devastated, you can thank the out-of-control environmental movement. It will be their fault and the fault of the federal government, which has allowed these radicals to impose their socialist regulations on the backs of the American people.
Says Wilkinson: "This is federal land along with significant sections of state land held in trust for Minnesota's schools – School Trust Land. The federal government would not allow the state access to the state land in the BWCAW in order for the state to remove fuel buildup on that land!"
He adds, "Many environmental groups have been going to court for decades to stop logging, access roads and motorized portages. They want to increase their group's influence in the management of these woodlands."
This is news largely ignored by the mainstream media, which wallow in radical environmentalism. They haven't been able to ignore the other disasters directly attributable to the environmentalist left; they simply report the disasters without placing the blame where it belongs – on radical environmentalism.
Take California and the energy crisis threatening to turn out the lights in that state. The media and the radical environmentalists blame the power companies and deregulation and just about everybody but themselves. It's really simple – demand has increased, but supply hasn't kept up with the rising demand.
Why? Because the enviros stopped the building of new power plants needed to keep up with demand, shut down nuclear power plants, prevented drilling for natural gas, and did everything they could to hamper the flow of energy.
Thanks to these people, the U.S. has become increasingly dependent upon foreign sources of oil. We are at the mercy of Castroite thugs like Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez and the Middle Eastern potentates in OPEC, because the enviros have prevented oil exploration within the U.S.
Even now, with the nation facing skyrocketing prices for energy due to OPEC's reducing production, these people are fighting tooth and nail to prevent drilling in Alaska's ANWR (Alaska National Wildlife Refuge) area. They're succeeding so far because we haven't let Congress know we need that oil and want drilling to begin as quickly as possible.
Then there's the matter of the great global warming hoax, a threat conjured up by a lot of Marxists and vigorously denied by the 19,000-plus scientists who have signed the Oregon Declaration stating that there is no – none at all – scientific evidence of global warming.
Yet there is a powerful movement to get the U.S. to accept severe restrictions on the use of vital fossil fuels as outlined in the Kyoto agreement.
When I say powerful, I mean just that. These people are coming at us from all sides. I give you one George Soros – a speculator who admits to lining his pockets by bringing down the economies of several nations. Soros has poured millions into the movement, working with his fellow Marxist, Mikhail Gorbechev, the granddaddy of the global warming hoax.
In today's issue of Wednesday on the Web we have a study by the American Conservative Union that lists the people backing the so-called campaign finance bill now being debated in the Senate. This move, designed to curb free speech and unconstitutional on its face, is being heavily financially backed by – guess who? Yeah. Good old Comrade George Soros.
"His Open Society Institute has provided at least $4.3 million since 1997 for various national campaign finance reform activities, not including his support for state-based projects," the report reveals.
"The campaign finance reform network is a massive national network of liberal organizations, projects and activities that is extremely well funded. Since 1996, the campaign finance reform 'campaign' has raised and spent more than $73 million: $67.3 million by national organizations and at least $6 million at the state and local level," the study reveals.
As I said, these people are coming at us from all side, never for a single second letting up in their drive to gather us up into a global socialist society.
We had better wake up and let Washington know we've had enough and are not going to take it anymore. The draconian, junk science-driven environmental restrictions imposed on us must be rolled back.
If we don't get off our duffs and act – well, just let's see how we enjoy having our lives and those of our children and grandchildren run by the likes of Mr. Soros and his Marxist comrades in a world short of just about everything but misery.
When will we learn?
