Al-Jazeera broadcast a report Wednesday featuring sons of Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan.
According to the report, some of bin Laden’s sons were on a mission with several "Afghan-Arabs" (Arab mujahideen in Afghanistan) and their sons, as well as some Taliban soldiers, searching for American soldiers suspected of being in the area.
The report was shot near the city of Nawr, in the region of Ghazni, where an American helicopter was recently abandoned after a crash-landing. The American crew was rescued, and then U.S. jets intentionally destroyed the disabled helicopter.
The Al-Jazeera footage showed the men searching the area using a Palm Pilot (apparently viewing maps) and examining a paper map. Some of the men had their faces covered.
Hamza bin Osama bin Laden – "bin" means "son of" – who is perhaps 6 years old, spoke, or rather shouted, a bit about defending Kabul, about Zionists and plunderers, and his support for Mullah Muhammad Omar.
Muhammad bin Osama bin Laden, perhaps 14 years old, was shown carrying a weapon over his shoulder. Khaled bin Osama bin Laden and Laden bin Osama bin Laden were also mentioned.
In one scene, a man with his face covered gave the boys an English lesson. He showed pictures of soldiers (one labeled in Arabic script "American") and explained in English, "You see, they are commandos; they are superpower only in the Hollywood, they are superpower in the films."
The man speaking English – not a native speaker – mentioned Rambo and concluded that if the commandos come to Afghanistan, "they will be like this," he said while pointing to the helicopter wreckage.
Hamza and another little boy were shown listening attentively to the lesson, and then in another scene waving pistols in the air.
In the Al-Jazeera report, a Taliban spokesman confirmed that there was a search under way in Ghazni, but said searchers had found nothing.
