No Regrets for Linda Tripp
NewsMax.com
Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000
The only thing Linda Tripp says she'd do differently in secretly taping-recording Monica Lewinsky – which led to President Clinton's impeachment – is "better and sooner."

In an interview with George magazine, she said:

"I have absolutely no regrets about what I did.

"What's important is that a president of the United States was willing to fix a court case."

She said she waited until after the Nov. 7 presidential election to participate in the magazine's interview in the hope that "people would be less inclined to think my motivation political."

Six months ago, Maryland prosecutors dropped their criminal case against Tripp for illegally taping Lewinsky as she confided in Tripp her sexual relationship with President Clinton.

Tripp turned over the phone tapes to independent counsel Ken Starr, and that action eventually brought about the House of Representatives' impeachment of Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice.

The Senate later failed to convict and remove Clinton from office.
