Green Party Candidate Defends Campaign
CNSNews.com
Monday, Nov. 6, 2000
Green Party candidate Ralph Nader defended his presidential candidacy Sunday by saying that its potential cost to Democrat Al Gore won't stop him from urging people to support him at the ballot box on Tuesday.

Polls indicate that Nader is drawing support in some states from people who say they would otherwise vote for Gore over Republican candidate George W Bush. However, Nader, acting both defiant and unapologetic, rejected criticism from Democrats who fear his campaign will help Bush win the presidential election.

"I would be disappointed if either Al Gore or George Bush [is] elected," Nader told host Tim Russert on NBC's Meet The Press.
