Sore Loser Gore Throws Hissy Fit
Dan Frisa
Monday, Nov. 27, 2000
George W. Bush has now won the state of Florida for the fourth time and finally, on Sunday, was officially certified the winner by the state Elections Canvassing Commission.

With Florida’s twenty-five electoral votes, Bush has the requisite majority of the Electoral College, and thus is our President-elect.

In fact, sixty percent of Americans want Junior Gore to concede and allow George W. Bush to become President, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Yet the past three weeks of legal wrangling by the Gore campaign, while within the technical confines of the law – as liberally and improperly interpreted by the Florida Supreme Court – have taken its toll on American stature in the world, on the Office of the Presidency, and on our entire electoral process itself.

Now that the election is over, after having been decided following extra-ordinary efforts by Gore to change the results by manufacturing votes, for him to now run again to the courts to overturn the outcome, is selfish, shallow, and dangerous.

But Junior Gore cares not about anything other than grasping at power for power’s sake alone.

Will of the people? Gore has stomped on it.

Rule of law? Gore has perverted it.

National interest? Gore has trampled it.

But, Sore Loser Gore will keep filing lawsuits, keep harming the nation, keep foisting Joe Lieberman’s empty platitudes upon us - all in desperation - because he will not, and cannot, see reality.

And because he has no shame.

So he throws a major hissy fit and files multiple lawsuits to overturn the certified election as decided by the people.

Where do we go from here?

Continued public outrage can, and must, continue to sap the air out of Gore’s futile floundering.

The strong and vigilant monitoring of the canvassing boards in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties proves once again that concerned Americans making their presence known when it counts is what ensures against the stealing of an election and the hijacking of a presidency.

We must demand this courage and commitment of those who hold office and heretofore have been sorely lacking in these qualities and who, in fact, have encouraged such reckless disregard for the law by having caved on impeachment. Too many Republicans in the U.S. Senate bear this responsibility.

That is why we must continue to project our voices above the din of the left and their enablers in the media, so as to remain a constant presence and force to be contended with, by continually raising awareness for the issues we support and the values we hold.

But not just at this time, as we work to keep our victory through the Electoral College vote on the 18th of December, but beyond it as well.

Because to win an election - we have learned the hard way - is not an end in itself, but rather the beginning of a process that requires a firm commitment by all of us, in order to get that which we expect from the government we elect.

So we must not let up.

Not now, not ever.
